The Silk Mill and Harmony Presents are offering a series of complimentary workshops throughout the month of January 2014.

Start the New Year with something NEW! The Silk Mill and Harmony Presents have teamed up and created a special community gift to celebrate YOU. Enjoy a series of complimentary engaging and life-enhancing day-time Saturday workshops throughout the month of January.

Beat the winter blues and give yourself some TLC at the Hawley Silk Mill. Come with friends, your family or by yourself. Let our highly experienced and friendly instructors guide you as you laugh, dance, relax, rejuvenate and get in tune with yourself.

All classes meet Saturdays 10am – 11am (EXCEPT JAN 11 YOGA 2pm – 3:30pm) throughout the month of January. Classes are complimentary but space is limited and pre-registration is required.  Join us for all, some or one of these fun and informative workshops:

January 4th – IMPROV COMEDY
Laurie A. Guzda, a professional actor and director with over thirty years experience will guide students in an improvisational comedy class. Specific techniques will be taught and each exercise is designed as a no-fail method to utilize each individual’s humor and identify their strengths.

January 11th from 2pm until 3:30pm – YOGA
Soothe the irritability and inability to concentrate that so often pairs with winter. Maggie Lehrian from Roots Yoga Studio in Hawley will be teaching the yogic practices and meditations which are scientifically proven to help alleviate the winter. Please bring a yoga mat if you have one and wear comfortable, lose fitting clothing.

January 18th –  BELLY DANCE
Retta Zumpone, professional choreographer, certified physical educator and specialist in Ballet, Hip Hop, Belly Dance, Bollywood and Latin dance will be teaching “Belly Dance Basics for Fun and Fitness”.  Learn and enjoy the rich history and genre that is Belly dance, through basic steps that will tone and strengthen the whole body, and allow you to express the inner dancer within.

January 25th – VISION BOARDING
Our workshop series concludes with a class for personal reflection. Jean Dearfoot, a Holistic Practitioner certified in Aromatherapy and Reiki will be guiding attendees in creating their own Spiritual Vision Board, helping us to manifest the life we honestly, but perhaps silently hope to live.

Classes are complimentary, space is limited and pre-registration is required. All classes, except for Saturday, January 11th’s class will begin at 10am and end at 11am.
Students can register online at HarmonyPresents.com or by calling (570) 588-8077.
