Snowpocalypse To Hit Poconos

February 12, 2014 by Pocono Talk Leave a Comment

Finally, a WINTER winter in the Poconos.  After a few years of ‘ok’ snow, we’ve finally gotten some nice accumulations the past few weeks.  We still have a good foot and a half of snow on the ground, and are on the verge of adding onto that amount within the next hour or so.

Areas of the Poconos are projected on average 6-8 inches upwards of 14 inches.  It’s definitely cold enough, and the storm is definitely on it’s way.

So what does this mean? Schools are definitely closed tomorrow, Thursday February 13th, and some have already closed for Friday as well.  I predict a lot of stay at home Valentine’s Days, but it’s a nice 5 day weekend for many people as well with President’s Day on Monday.

If you’re wondering what type of conditions for skiing and snowboarding on President’s Day in the Poconos – rest assured there will be plenty of snow, making for extra packed slopes so get there early.
