Paint Parties Regularly Scheduled in Hawley

February 18, 2016 by Pocono Talk Leave a Comment

Managing Director of Harmony Presents, Jill Carletti is now hosting “Libations & Creations” paint parties in the underground theater of the Hawley Silk Mill. “Our painting parties are a great way to have a fun, relax, and have social evening around creating a painting. Painters’ do not need any experience or art background to participate. Participants are lead, step-by-step, through the process of recreating a painting and are encouraged to BYOB. Most professional artists drink a little wine as they paint. We feel novice artists should treat themselves the same! As someone who went to school for art and education, adding ‘Libations & Creations – Paint Parties’ to our usual Harmony Presents programming is a delight,” says Carletti. “We’ve been doing one painting a month for a few months now, but we’ll be doing more of them in the coming months, as well as adding kids paint classes to our programming. We’ve also recently added “Paint Your Pet” nights and we’re offering private paint parties as well.”

Paint parties vary in price, but the most common type of paint party at Harmony Presents is $31.50 for early registrants and $35 otherwise. “Paint Your Pet” parties are $58 per person; more than a usual class because of the prep work involved. For these nights, participants will have their pet pre-sketched on canvas and two skilled local artists will be helping painters flesh out their pets.

“On Friday, February 26th we are painting ‘Cherry Blossom Mountainside’ together. At first I felt like spring would be so far away when we would recreate this painting. Turns out, it’s a fitting painting for the month; this February is quite spring-like!” adds Carletti.

General registration is still available for February 26th’s Paint Party and tickets can be purchased at www.harmonypresents.com or by calling (570) 588-8077. The party takes place in the underground theater of the Hawley Silk Mill at 8 Silk Mill Drive, Hawley, PA.
