Although we’re on the verge of yet another early spring snowstorm in Poconos(they’re calling for 5-10 inches overnight tonight in the higher elevations), warm weather is right around the corner and before we know it spring will be here!

One of the great outdoor activities available in the Poconos is golf.  There are a number of great courses in the area and we’ve been given some inside news on some upcoming spring deals for golf in the Poconos.

Spring Season Specials at Several Locations as Pocono Courses Open

(POCONO MOUNTAINS, PA.)  — The Pocono Mountains are celebrating the beginning of spring and the 2011 playing season (http://www.poconosgolf.com) by taking advantage of specials from over 35 golf courses in the region.

Located within easy drive of New York City, Philadelphia and New Jersey, most golf courses are offering early stay-and-play rates around or below $100, including:

Free Golf April at Shawnee Inn: As part of its 2011 Centennial celebration, The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort is offering free golf to guests from April 3 to April 28. Mount Airy Golf Club: Designed after Sports Illustrated’s “18 Best Holes of Golf,” Mount Airy will open its season April 1 with rates between $20-$25 for nine holes (midweek/weekend) or $37-$45 for 18 holes during the month of April only.  See http://www.mountairycasino.com
