Grand Opening of Toys “R” Us at the Crossings Premium Outlets

outsideOn Friday, July 1st, 2016 we attended the Grand Opening of the Toys “R” Us at the Crossings Premium Outlets in Tannersville, PA.   If you’re a local to the Poconos, then you might be familiar with the Toys “R” Us Express that was in the Crossings on and off over the past couple of years.  Well good news, this Toys “R” Us is a permanent location here in the Poconos, so they’re here to stay!  The store itself is located at A19 which can be seen on the map here.  The main map does not seem to be updated just yet with that information, so finding A19 on the above link will help you quickly find it.

Onto the Grand Opening!  So we arrived in the early morning with all 4 of our kids (ranging in ages from 3 to 12), and our youngest was so super excited.  We were greeted by friendly employees, and Geoffrey the Giraffe who took time to take pictures and greet guests.  As we entered the store I was surprised at how much merchandise there was, the variety of what was available and that they so many of the newest toys (Secret Life of Pets, Finding Dory) on display.  As soon as we walked in there was a large Lego display, and the “hottest toys” were easily displayed on the ends of the aisles.  If you need to find a birthday gift for a party, it makes it really easy to find those “must have” toys that are at the top of their wishlist.

grabbagAfter we walked around and toured the store we purchased a few items and as we left were given balloons and ‘swag bags’, as I like to call them, for the kiddos.  Inside the bags were a super cute Geoffrey the Giraffe stuffed animal and a variety of fun toys.  The kids had so much fun and I’m happy to now have a place to go that will make birthday shopping for their friends that much easier.

This new location at the Crossings Premium Outlets is 3500 square feet and just 1 of 4 Toys “R” Us Outlet stores that were opened that day – showing great signs of expansion of Toys “R” Us in the United States which is great news if you have a bunch of toy loving kids like me.  Some people think outlet stores are just “leftovers” from larger stores, but this store is anything but that!  This outlet location gives the best of both worlds – outlet prices AND a great selection of the newest toys available, which means you don’t need to hike 45 minutes North(up to Dickson City) or South(down to Allentown), to get the Toys “R” Us toys you desire.  They’re now available right here in the Pocono Mountains.  With new stores means new jobs, and Toys “R” Us is hiring at this location, so if you are interested in applying, you can do so by going to www.RUsCareers.com
