Just under two weeks away, one of NEPAs favorite annual events, The Hawley Harvest Hoedown celebrates the harvest season in the charming town of Hawley, PA.   Hosted by the Downtown Hawley Partnership, local residents and visitors have enjoyed this weekend event for over a decade. “The Hawley Harvest Hoedown is an excellent way to start off the fall season, “ says Simon Knox, Downtown Hawley Partnership’s Manager. “Packed full of cider tastings, brews, contests, demonstrations, family activities, crafts, day and night entertainment, fresh locally grown foods, local maple syrup, pies, local business specials and deals and so much more is happening on the main and side streets of Hawley on Saturday, Oct 3rd,” adds Knox. Several other organizations, including the Hawley Fire Department, The Hawley Library and area churches will also be holding special events and activities.  Activities and vendors open at 10am and close around 5pm. For more details, please visit www.hawleyharvesthoedown.com.

From noon until 4pm, local musicians are welcome to take part in the Folk Open Mic under the Ritz marquee hosted by the Rail Birds. Those interested in performing should sign-up in advance and bring their own instruments. The sign-up board will be available at 11am.

As a finale to Saturday’s festivities, NEPA’s favorite hard-driving, foot-stomping bluegrass band, The Coal Town Rounders cap off the annual Hawley Harvest Hoedown with two other high energy bluegrass and folk bands. Complimenting this triple bill is 4-piece MardiGrass band, Roosevelt Dime, whose latest release “Full Head of Steam (2014),” climbed to #6 on the Folk Charts in New York and #8 nationally. The concert also features 2014 RockyGrass Band Competition winners, Caribou Mountain Collective. The show begins at 8:00 pm at the Ritz Theater located at 512 Keystone Street in Hawley. Doors will open at 7:30pm.

Seating for this show should be reserved and tickets are tiered at different price levels. Bronze tickets are $16, Silver Tickets are $20 and Gold Tickets are $25 and the difference is dependent on the seats chosen. Seats can be can reserved online atwww.harmonypresents.com or by calling (570) 588-8077. Seats can also be reserved in person at AMSkier Insurance Agency located at 209 Main Avenue in Hawley during regular business hours.

“We’re raffling off 20 custom Hawley Harvest Hoedown 2015 letterpress posters, versus our originally planned 10. The posters have been designed and printed by Coal Town Rounder’s mandolin player and professional letterpress printer, Matthew Hiller of Revival Letterpress Printing. All members of the Coal Town Rounders will sign the poster. The first 200 ticket holders are automatically entered to win one of these custom printed posters,” says Jill Carletti, Production Manager of the Hawley Harvest Hoedown Concert.  “We’re also thrilled to have The Hotel Belvidere host the after-party for this concert. The Hawley Harvest Hoedown and its first ever Bluegrass & Folk Concert was a highlight of last year for many of us, and we can’t wait to do it again,” adds Carletti.

Cocoon Coffee House will cater wine, beer, coffee and snacks on site at The Ritz Theater during the show.
