December 31, 2013 by Pocono Talk Leave a Comment

The holiday season is over, and now it’s time to focus on you, relax, have fun and enjoy a good laugh. Harmony Presents and the Hawley Silk Mill kick off the first complimentary Saturday workshops in January and Harmony Presents showcases their first comedy night.

On Saturday, January 4th at 10am, Laurie A. Guzda, a professional actor and director with over thirty years experience will guide students in an improvisational comedy class. Specific techniques will be taught and each exercise is designed as a no-fail method to utilize each individual’s humor and identify their strengths.

The following Saturday, January 11th at 2pm, Maggie Lehrian from Roots Yoga Studio in Hawley will be teaching the yogic practices and meditations which are scientifically proven to help alleviate winter’s negative effects including poor sleep, irritability, and inability to concentrate. Please bring a yoga mat if you have one and wear comfortable, lose fitting clothing.

Although January Workshops are complimentary, space is limited and pre-registration is required. Visit harmonypresents.com’s community tab to register or for more information.

On January 31st  at 7:30 pm, Harmony Presents’ first ever comedy night features three of some of the best up and coming comedians from New York and Boston including Mike Cannon, Kate Wolff and Emma Willman. These hysterical comedian’s combined experiences include being featured on BuzzFeed’s Comics to Watch, MTV’s Failosophy, Nick Mom’s Night Out on Nickelodeon, ComedyTimeTV and have placed in some of the best Comedy Festivals including Boston’s Beantown Comedy Riots, the She Devil Comedy Festival and Boston’s Women in Comedy Festival. All three of these comics regularly perform at nightclubs throughout Manhatten and the rest of New York. To purchase tickets for Harmony’s first comedy night, please visit harmonypresents.com and click on the Comedy tab.

Harmony Presents shows, workshops and concerts take place in the historic Boiler Room of the Hawley Silk Mill located on the ground floor at 8 Silk Mill Drive in Hawley and shows start at 7:30 pm and end around 9:00 or 9:30 pm. Audiences are encouraged to arrive early for preferred seating. Cocoon Coffee House caters snacks, coffee, wine and beer on site prior to the Saturday shows and during intermission.
