Pocono Garlic Festival this weekend Saturday September 1st & Sunday September 2nd, 2012

August 27, 2012 by Pocono Talk 1 Comment

The Pocono Garlic Festival is in it’s 18th year running, and is a garlic themed festival (who would have thought?!)  that includes plenty of foods containing garlic (including ice cream), music & entertainment and many garlic themed crafts to purchase as well.  For the past 5-6 years my husband and I always make plans to go, but something always seems to derail our plans.  My husband is a huge garlic fan, and we’ve cleared this weekend of “to-do’s” but it’s still inevitable for us one of us or the kids will get sick, so I’m not going to get my hopes up too high that we’ll be able to make it.

For those of you that can make it, it is sure to be a great time between the food and entertainment – it’s great way to spend your Labor Day weekend and say goodbye to summer.  The festival is this Saturday (September 1st) & Sunday (September 2nd) and opens at 10:00 am and runs until 6:00 pm both days.

This is a 2 day event that takes place at Shawnee Mountain and you can purchase discounted advanced tickets online up until 4pm this Friday, August 31st.  You can purchase either a 1 day ticket or for just a few dollars more you can get a 2 day ticket.  There is plenty to do for the kids as well (magic shows, face painting, petting zoo) and kids 4 and under are FREE.

To purchase tickets you can visit the Shawnee Mountain website: http://www.shawneemt.com/s_poconogarlicfestival.html or you can visit their official website at: http://www.poconogarlic.com

Be sure to checkout their Facebook page as well: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Pocono-Garlic-Festival/242797235869
