Saturday August 18th, 2012 beginning at 11:30AM at the Bushkill Inn & Conference Center is “Poconos Got Talent” – before you get too too excited it is not affiliated with Americas Got Talent so unfortunately the prizes are much…much…smaller then the 1 million AGT prize. The prize amounts are as follows: 1st Place: $500, 2nd Place $300 and 3rd place $200. There’s also a $15 entrance fee – call me old fashioned but I think if there is a $15 entry fee and $25 for passes for your family to come see the event…the prizes should be A LOT bigger then what they are. I also came across this: “Gates for parking open 2 hours 30 minutes before doors. Each vehicle entering the parking area will be charged $10 for parking. Parking fees are subject to change without notice.” Maybe I’m missing something, I think the closest I got to any competition was a spelling bee in grade school, so maybe it’s all just standard procedure?
