Need Some Ideas Of What To Get Mom For Mother’s Day?

May 7, 2011 by Pocono Talk Leave a Comment

With Mother’s Day right around the corner, you may be scrambling to find ideas of what to do for mom if you live in the Poconos.  If you still haven’t come up with any ideas of what to do for your mom/wife, I’m going to throw a few quick ideas your way.  Luckily for us, the Poconos lends itself to a variety of great gift options from the very affordable to finer gifts and dining.

Get Her A Massage
The Massage Academy of the Poconos (I personally haven’t gone there) offers massages as low as $25/$35 for a 30 minute massage.  You can go here to purchase a gift certificate online and they even have mother’s day themed ones.  Not bad for a last minute gift!

Get Her Some Chocolates
The Gertrude Hawk store in the Stroud Mall is open on Sundays from 11-6, so you still have time to pick up something a little sweet for mom.  Looking online they have some Mother’s Day specials ranging from an affordable chocolate covered apple or box of chocolates for around $6/$7 to a Chocolate Decadence Tower for $99.    If you’re looking for another option, you could try out the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory at the Crossings Factory Outlet in Tannersville.  I love their caramel apples that have all sorts of goodies on them from nuts to m&ms to chocolate chips.

Get Her Some Candles
Who doesn’t love a great smelling candle?  What about a great looking one?  The House of Candles on Route 715 in Tannersville offers a large selection of candles and gifts, including some unique carved candles.  I’m not gonna lie, I’ll usually stop by just to get a glimpse of the adorable mini horses they have out back their store…but they definitely have a ton of candles and great gifts that mom would love as well.

Take Her Out To Dinner
If you’re looking for some finer dining check out The Stone Bar Inn, I’ve only eaten there once about 2 years ago, but I definitely remember it being some excellent food.  If you’re looking to spend more then usual in exchange for a nice quality meal they’re open on Sundays from 4pm to 9pm so you have plenty of time to take mom out tomorrow.

Hopefully some of this sparked some ideas for you, there are so many countless places to go, things to do, and gifts to get that I’m sure you’ll find something that’s just perfect for mom.  Here’s to all the mothers out there, I hope you have a great  Mother’s Day!  Take the time to relax, enjoy and take a day off (if there ever is such a thing).
