Folk Musician, Hayley Reardon Plays Hawley, PA

June 6, 2016 by Pocono Talk Leave a Comment

On Saturday, June 11 at 8pm, Harmony Presents showcases 15-year old singer-songwriter, Hayley Reardon, whose music is hailed to be in the “tradition of Suzanne Vega, Tracy Chapman, Erin McKeown, and Mary Chapin Carpenter” according to iTunes. “It’s amazing that such a young artist has already made an incredible impact on the folk music scene,” says Jill Carleti, Managing Director of Harmony Presents. “Noted for her thoughtful, vivid songwriting and engaging stage performance, Hayley has spent the past five years sharing the stage with acts like Tom Rush, Peter Yarrow, Buskin & Batteau, Christine Lavin, and opening for the likes of Lori McKenna, Mark Erelli, and Catie Curtis. She has been selected for official showcases at Folk Alliance International and New England Regional Folk Alliance, as well as The Boston Folk Festival, New York Songwriter’s Circle, and Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artist Showcase. In 2012, The Boston Globe Magazine named her a Bostonian of the Year for both her music and her work to pair it with a message of teen empowerment. The feature article characterized her as ‘a confident, radiant teenage singer/songwriter who is helping to pen the next chapter of the Boston folk scene….while Reardon is rapidly making a name for herself under the stage lights, it could be said that she’s having a bigger impact on her peers across the country as an effective teen-to-teen ambassador, sought after by schools nationwide,’” adds Carletti.

The show takes place in the underground theater of the Hawley Silk Mill located at 8 Silk Mill Drive in Hawley, PA.  Cocoon Catering Company caters wine, beer and light snacks on site for all shows. Advance tickets are available for $17 for the first 30 ticket buyers, the Wednesday before the show. After this, tickets are available for $20. Tickets may be purchased online at www.harmonypresents.com or in person at AMSkier Insurance Agency located at 209 Main Avenue. Purchasing tickets in advance online also gets ticket holders 20% off their bill at Glass Wine Bar and Bistro on the day of the show. Show starts at 8:00pm and doors are at 7:45.  Call (570) 588-8077 for questions or help purchasing tickets online.
