Although we're on the verge of yet another early spring snowstorm in Poconos(they're calling for 5-10 inches overnight tonight in the higher elevations), warm weather is right around the corner and before we know it spring will be here! One of the great outdoor activities available in the Poconos is golf. There are a number of great courses in the area and we've been given … [Read more...]
Spring equals snow in the Poconos
Did you get fooled? Last week it we had a few 50-60 degree days and almost 70 degrees one day. We opened up all of our windows, started some spring cleaning and started thinking about all of the fun things we'll get to do now that the warm weather is upon us. In typical Pocono fashion it was an early April fools joke - Punxsutawney Phil said that spring is coming, we had … [Read more...]
Finally Some Snow!
It has been an incredibly and rather oddly 'calm' winter in the Poconos thus far. We got a bit of snow the day after Christmas - it wasn't that much but it caused a lot of traffic problems and hazardous driving. Pumpkin Patch Picking in the Poconos 2010
So last year pumpkin picking wasn't really available due to the wet weather. By the time we decided to get pumpkins all we could find were "pre-picked" pumpkins in patches. They weren't really available off the vine and although a pumpkin is a pumpkin, there is something truly special about being able to actually grab it off the vine. This year though pumpkin picking is in … [Read more...]
Fall In The Poconos Is Quickly Approaching
Although the official start of fall isn't until September 22nd, the temperature changes over the past few weeks have definitely made it feel like fall is already here. For the past 2-3 weeks there has been a battle between summer temperatures (96 last Thursday) and Fall temperatures (74 on Sunday), for the most part though it looks like we'll be staying in the 70-80s from here … [Read more...]
