2013-2014 Pocono Mountain Ski Resort Openings

November 26, 2013 by Pocono Talk 2 Comments

Winter has arrived!  Ok, so it’s not exactly winter yet but skiing, snowboarding and snowtubing season is right around the corner.  As many area ski resorts prepare to open for the 2013-2014 season here’s an update on opening dates.  Most resorts will have limited trails available and will not be fully operational, and you will not have access to all the trails.  Snowtubing will not be available at most locations just yet.

ALPINE MOUNTAIN
Recently purchased Alpine Mountain will be not be opening until December 20th, 2013.  Considering it was sold at auction in September, it’s good to see that it will at least be operational for the 2013-2014 season. http://www.alpinemountain.com

BLUE MOUNTAIN
Blue Mountain is planning on opening Black Friday, November 29th from 8:30am to 10pm with 7 trails open and lift tickets will be 50% off.  http://www.skibluemt.com/the-mountain/events-calendar/master-2013-2014/blue-prepares-to-open!

CAMELBACK
Camelback will kick off its 50th season on Saturday, November 30th and Sunday December 1st, 2013.  They will be open from 8:30am to 4:30pm and lift tickets will be $20 per day.(no discounts or coupons will apply).  Oak Grove and Turkey Trot trails will be open. Only intermediate terrain will be available, no beginner terrain.  They will be open for daily operation on December 6th, 2013 and night skiing will begin on Friday December 13th, 2013.   http://skicamelback.com/images/events/Event_20132211171450.pdf?_ga=1.261304205.1287081423.1385513890

FERNWOOD
Fernwood snowtubing is currently closed and should be open sometime late December:http://www.fernwoodresortpoconos.com/innerViewPackage.cfm?siteId=514&itemCategory=47669&priorId=47259

JACK FROST / BIG BOULDER

Jack Frost Big Boulder currently has 1 trail and 1  lift open at Big Boulder:  http://www.jfbb.com/snow-reports.html

SHAWNEE MOUNTAIN
Shawnee will be opening on Friday, November 29th, 2013 and will be open on Saturday and Sunday as well, all days from 9am to 5pm. Rates will be mid-week lift rates, ski and snowboard rentals will be available.  Beginner level terrain Hiawatha, Blue Mountain, Greenhouse Slope, Little Chief and top to bottom on the 5,000’ Pennsylvania Trail will be open.   3 Lifts will be operating including the Tomahawk Express Quad & Beginner Friendly Carpet Lift. http://www.shawneemt.com/mountain/snowreport.html

We grab them from existing media (usually websites), most have logos on their websites if not, the resort/ski area followed by “logo” in Google will usually bring up most.

      Ex: Camelback Mountain Logo: https://www.google.com/search?q=camelback+logo&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=NOPTVNLRA_i1sQS7iYLACQ&ved=0CAgQ_AUoAQ&biw=1920&bih=965#tbm=isch&q=camelback+mountain+logo

Also, if you want high resolution versions for print/etc. I’m sure you could reach out to them directly individually via their websites, many have “press” sections or contact that I’m sure would be more then happy to help!

      Hopefully this helps you 🙂
