Last weekend we went out and got our Christmas tree at the Farmers Basket in Stroudsburg which is located directly to the left of Ritas Water Ice(which is closed for the season). Every year since I moved to the Poconos I have gotten my tree from there, initially simply because it was close to where I was living, but even after I moved I still continue to shop there. I've … [Read more...]
Tax Relief in the Poconos, what you didn’t get a letter?
In today's world scandal and gossip seems to travel faster then the speed of light, and good news, well that can be hard to get a hold of sometimes. Yesterday I received a check in the mail for $420 from my bank, it was an overage from them calculating my taxes because the Homestead Tax Relief Act had kicked in. We were on our way home, it was turning dusk but still plenty light out to see, and there it was, standing at … [Read more...]
Balloon Entertainment at Texas Roadhouse in Stroudsburg
The Texas Roadhouse in Stroudsburg was put in a few years back and is located right in front of the Stroud Mall. I didn't eat there for at least a year after it opened but after being invited on a few different occasions for fundraisers we decided to give it a shot the one night. It's a chain steakhouse, good food, good service and reasonably priced. From Mon - Thurs from … [Read more...]
Some road “know how” when traveling in the Poconos
We got our first significant snowfall of the winter yesterday that dropped anywhere from 2 to 6 inches of snow across the Pocono region. Up in Mount Pocono where I live we got about 5-6 inches, and this morning traveling down into Stroudsburg I'd be surprised if they got more then 2 inches. Although the entire Pocono region is known for it's snow and winter activities, there … [Read more...]
