Life in the Poconos

Thank you from the Hawley Harvest Hoedown Committee

October 27, 2014 by Pocono Talk Leave a Comment

Families from surrounding counties and states descended into the charming town of Hawley, PA, this past weekend, proving once again that Northeast PA is a great place to be in the fall.  A variety of activities engaged people of all ages throughout the weekend, as visitors and residents alike strolled through the beautifully decorated streets, explored our festive shop fronts – and even the rain could not keep people from searching for that one of a kind find.

The inaugural Hawley Harvest Hoedown Concert, produced by Harmony Presents and in benefit of the Downtown Hawley Partnership, was truly a fitting finale to a wonderful day.  The scene was set with hay bale couches, scarecrows, decorative lights and the Ritz marquee lighting up Keystone Street, welcoming concert goers to a high energy bluegrass and folk concert.

This weekend would not have been possible without the support and help of every committee member, volunteer, business partner and sponsor involved.  The Partnership would like to extend their sincere thanks.  We are extremely blessed to have such great partners who make a significant effort to keep our town looking as charming as it does.  In recognition of their efforts we would like to announce the winners of our scarecrow contest – 1st place was awarded to Eye Candy Tattoo, 2nd place to The Hawley Dinner and 3rd place to the Sand Spring Antiques.  Please continue to support our local businesses during the coming holiday season.

As we reflect on the success of this weekend, planning has already begun for this year’s Hawley Winterfest, December 12 – 14.  Be sure to keep up to date with the upcoming schedule by visiting us at www.HawleyWinterfest.com.

The Downtown Hawley Partnership is comprised of Hawley area businesses, organizations and individuals working together to bring cohesiveness, aesthetics, and structure to the growth and development of downtown Hawley.  Like us on Facebook and visit us a www.VisitHawleyPA.com.
