Mount Airy, Smoke Free Portion Room & Table Games

Mount Airy will soon have table games available, the tentative date is currently set at July 13th.  Also, a new smoke free room opened today which is welcome news to those of us non-smokers who hate to come home smelling like a cigarette.  Plus, I’m sure for those who stop by after work for a bit without wanting the spouse to know can get away with it a bit easier now :)

I’m not a gambler by any sorts, my husband and I figured we’d stop a few months back on a rare rare night out with the kids.  We’re only a few minutes away so it seems silly not to.

Having never been in a casino before I can’t compare it against much but it seems like your typical high end, flashy lights and sounds to get you excited to spend some money!

I can’t complain but I got carded 3 times simply to get inside, the one lady was like “mmm hmmm…sure I belive you now let me see your license”, heck I turn 30 this year and am having my 3rd kid this year, so getting carded is flattery to me :)

What I do know is we’ve gotten some nice tax breaks from the casino going in, I haven’t seen any traffic increase personally, and it doesn’t seem any more crowded around here then usual so it hasn’t turned out to be such a bad thing.

Hi Andrea, as a Tobyhanna resident, I pass by the casino turnoff on 611 everyday, and I haven’t noticed an increase in traffic either. I enjoy the occasional visit to a casino, so it’s convenient having one nearby when the mood strikes.

With table gaming having begun a few weeks ago, I suspect that the casino will become a bigger draw, since many folks become bored with slots after a while.

I can’t remember the last time that I was carded. If you’re ID is still being checked at 29, you’re way ahead of the game already. Ray
